Daniel has practiced with Coady Filliter since 2002 and became a partner of the firm in 2006.

It's no surprise that family man Daniel Walker gravitated to Family Law. As a husband, a father of three young children, an active member of the community serving on various boards and committees, and a part-time lecturer at Saint Mary's University, he understands the pressures of juggling a multitude of responsibilities. Compassionate by nature, Daniel's instincts are to help shepherd his clients through a confusing legal maze in times of conflict, putting clients at ease.

Prior to joining Coady Filliter, Daniel learned the legal system inside-out working not only in general practice for a couple of local firms, but also as a claims examiner with the Nova Scotia Barristers' Liability Claims Fund, responding to professional liability claims brought against lawyers.

Raised in New Brunswick, a curiosity about the world around him prompted a move to Halifax to study political science at Dalhousie University. He returned to New Brunswick to begin his legal studies at UNB, but completed his law degree at Dalhousie Law School. Now, Daniel takes an active interest in his children's education by serving as the Chair of the Board at the Halifax Independent Elementary School, a progressive school using theme-based learning. He says the kids love it.

To unwind, Daniel enjoys reading a good story and taking in the performing arts.
