The language
of Property Law can be bewildering but the world of mortgages, deeds and
land registration is like water off a duck’s back for Brenda Rice-Thomson.
From her straightforward explanation of otherwise arcane matters to her
knack for putting clients at ease, Brenda Rice-Thomson’s clients
know they are truly in good hands.
Born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Brenda studied History and
Political Science at Dalhousie University and then went on to attend law
school at the University of Toronto. Her career in Property Law
began with a law firm in Kitchener-Waterloo but she eventually heeded
the call of the ocean and returned to Nova Scotia. Ms. Rice-Thomson
has provided counsel to both individuals and corporate clients in property
matters. More recently, as one of only four Land Registration Auditors
in the province who monitor other lawyers’ compliance with Nova
Scotia’s Land Registration System, Ms. Rice-Thomson has become very
knowledgeable in land registration.
When Brenda and her husband are not traveling to lands near and far, they
can be found hiking with their dog who, on occasion, has been known to
chase the odd duck.
